How to Install Apache2, MySQL, and PHP in Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, etc.)

1 min read

This video will show you how to install Apache2 Web Server, MySQL database daemon, and PHP. The process shown here works with any Linux distribution that uses the APT-GET utility to install packages from the repository. Linux distributions that use the APT-GET utility are: Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and so forth.

The command used to install the web server is:
sudo apt-get install php5-cli php5-curl mysql-server mysql-client php5-mysql apache2 php5
sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

  1. if you have errors due to failed partial package downloads, go and delete the partial files/ folders – for me on linux mint – i went to /var/cache/ and renamed debconf to debconf-bak, then mysql-server worked
