Very well done with the presentation, thank you! Really appealing demo! The price is right too. Soon there will be very few reasons (Photoshop) left for me not to make Linux my main OS. thank you so much to lightworks team for porting this great video editor to linux. and thank you too sir for review it… much respect. Amazing I'd Just Like To Interject For A Moment .. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. etc.. etc.. I didn't say there were. I use Ardour and Qtractor. ALso plugins. That's all I need, I think most people look for proffessional things but don't fully use them, so most of the times is overkill. I see no difference for my needs between those and windows NLEs. Yep, awkward.)) Linux (/ˈlɪnəks/ LIN-əks or /ˈlɪnʊks/ LIN-uuks) You pronounced Linux incorrectly :/ i thought there were no professional linux audio editors? Big Thanks to you Red Shark for bringing Lightworks to Linux On Speedtest I show a download speed of 11Mbps yet this video can't play smoothly. It plays for ten seconds then pauses for twenty seconds, play for ten, pause for twenty. Very frustrating. I'm at 1.25 minutes and it hasn't played a thing for over a minute. Absolutly fantastic!! bye bye Premiere! Good bye Windows! And I think "La-i-nux" Is cooler than "Leenox" Still waiting for an open source version, which was obvisiously just a PR-stunt of this company. Man, I can't wait for Lightworks to be released in Linux! I'm already learning as much as I can of Blender, I already migrated my audio production workflow to linux and I'm not looking back. I'm so excited to migrate fully to linux, I'll be first in the line to buy the full version of lightworks as soon as it's released. Can't wait 🙂 Don't let your doughter use anything else :). What other os? upload . wikimedia . org / wikipedia / commons / 0 / 03 / Linus-linux.ogg I see the demo shows Hero 3 footage. Is there Cineform Codec support in the Linux version? Great work team. Personally I use Cinelerra. Lightworks looks good, but I can achieve pretty much the same effects with Cinelerra. Or you could be consistent and henceforth pronounce "Lightworks" as "Litworks" He didnt pronounce it 'wrong' he used the european pronunciation. That is what I thought at first but since Linux comes from Linus Torvald, the man himself pronounces his name with a "Lai" and besides it is open source so whatever you call it, it will be pretty much right 🙂 /watch?v=qAEsoKiZTvk Linus Torvalds said in "The Code" from 2001, he doesn't care how you pronounce it. As long as you use the letters "linux", he will be okey with it. If I'm remember it right. I can be wrong here. Comments are closed.
