# Common questions:
What distro(s) do you use?
* Office PC: Manjaro GNOME
* Laptop: Manjaro GNOME
* GPD WIN 2: Manjaro GNOME
* Steam Machine: Manjaro GNOME
* Server: Ubuntu 18.04

# What do you use to edit your videos?
Audio editing: Audacity
Video editing: KdenLive

# Why aren’t you using other video services like LBRY or PeerTube?
I am on LBRY: https://beta.lbry.tv/@TheLinuxGamer and I also have a BitChute mirror.
Most PeerTube instances have a data quota that just doesn’t serve my channel well. My videos are high-res (4K) and I’d exceed most quotas in one or two videos.

Office Rig:
* AMD Ryzen 7 1800x
* AMD Vega 64
* 32 GB RAM
* Manjaro GNOME

Steam Machine:

* Nvidia GTX 970 4GB
* 12 GB RAM
* Manjaro GNOME

Backup Rig:
* Intel Core i5 at 3.4 GHz
* Nvidia GTX 750 Ti
* 8 GB of RAM

Server:
* AMD FX 6300 at 3.5 GHz
* Nvidia GTX 750 1GB
* 8 GB RAM

  1. When I first ran Linux there where a lonely blinking caret and /help was incomprehensible.
    Now my Mint recognise my face as a password and I finished Subnautica just moments ago.
    Good times.

  2. happy linux mint user here. I do have win10 disk as well but haven't booted in it in a while, even for games. linux finally seems on a good path to be enough user-friendly to get more and more into every day PC setups. cheers!

  3. The only time I have had issues with hardware on Linux is on my main rig. My laptops run linux just fine but my MSI B350M motherboard hates linux, I've updates the drivers, went into the fan config in linux and I can't stop the fans from being 100% maxed out all the time. The thing sounds like a damn jet engine. I've treid 3 different distros all with different kernals and no dice on any of them. No idea what is causing it. It's strange though because my second PC has a MSI B350M but its an RBG varient and it works compeletly fine, currently running Pop!_OS on the rig and Linux Mint on the laptops. Love this OS.

  4. Soundcards can be quite the headache on Linux, but it's only because manufacturers develop drivers and softwares for Windows and Mac OS exclusively. The free audio software for Linux (JACK, Ardour…) is very good. It's not perfect though, as Ardour has a tendency to randomly crash when you use several virtual instruments.

  5. I run Pop!_OS on my XPS 9370 and don't have fingerprint scanner support. Pretty sure its a dell proprietary scanner though. Other than that everything works including external graphics.
