  1. Do neurological conditions count? Because I've had Tourette Syndrome since I was 12. My body hurts constantly from the tics. 😐

As for temporary illness … I got the flu on my sister's birthday. Had to go to the ER because I kept falling asleep due to a 103 degree fever and lost my voice. Before I went, I had gone out to the store to get my sister a birthday cake and some other groceries. I legit insisted I was fine despite obviously having trouble functioning.

  2. When my son was an infant he contracted hand foot and mouth disease from a daycare. While taking care of and comforting him, I also contracted HFM. I had painful and itchy blisters all over my body, and in my mouth and throat, which turned in to weeping ulcers until they finally dried out. Some of the ulcers developed on the beds of my fingernails and toenails. When those dried out, some of my nails actually fell off. It is the most miserable illness I've experienced so far.

  3. You said that diptheria can "cause…death and even paralysis" but I'm now wondering which is worse out of the 2. Although I guess paralysis is worse because you don't have to deal with the pain of death after you have died. But people who get paralysed often end up in legal battles over Assisted suicide so that's a 70/30 thing i guess

  4. I had West Nile Virus. Still went to work and everything but couldn't remember how to use my register. Got rushed to the ER, my fever was at 106, I couldn't even remember my own name, people would say "Beth, what is your name" and all I could say was I don't know. Luckily the ER got my fever down and pumped me full of meds and it took about a week and I started to get better.

  5. Salmonella food poisoning! My husband ran me to the ER at 2:00 am as I was was losing it from both ends! I have never been as sick before or since. All night I was dragging my IV pole down the hall to the loo to poo but never quite making it in time. Standing up to walk made the puking start again too. By the time it all began to settle slightly the next morning any sense of modesty was about gone as I was down to just the hospital gown and it was no longer any too clean.
One funny moment (not funny at the time) was when they moved me to a room and brought an invalid's toilet and parked said porta pot by my bed. All night I was leaving a trail of dribbled crap down the hall as I
repeatedly ran the long hall to the bathroom dragging that damned IV pole and mooning everyone I passed! Now I had no crap left and they park that little potty chair right by my bed. SIGH…

  6. I had lots of red spots on my neck middle of my arm cheeks and I couldnt stop scratching it then it was gone but later it came back but not major ive not had it since.

  7. The worst I've been sick was like two years ago. When I was so dehydrated and the skin on my lips where basically peeling off. And it got worse. I had to have a paper towel and spit on it because I was so dehydrated and when I stood up I almost fell on my aunt's computer and my hair was a mess. I haven't gotten that sick ever since and only had a cold.
